Notice of Joint Public Hearing
Pursuant to M.G.L., Chapter 40A, Section 5, the Bridgewater Planning Board and Community & Economic Development Commission will hold a joint public hearing on August 18, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom and in person at 66 Central Square Academy Building Bridgewater, MA 02324. The zoom link can be found here: https://zoom.us/j/93852718291 or via phone at (646) 876-9923 and use meeting ID 98237947157 Proposed Ordinance D-FY21-010 ZONING ORDINANCE – ZONING MAP AMENDMENT – 96 MAIN STREET WHEREAS, In accordance with the provision of MGL, Chapter 40A; of the Bridgewater Home Rule Charter relative to amendments to the Administrative Code, it is therefore; ORDERED, that the Town Council assembled votes to amend the Bridgewater Zoning Map by rezoning Map 21, Parcel 27, also known as 96 Main Street, to Central Business District (CBD) in its entirety. Explanation: The property located at 96 Main Street is currently split zoned. The front portion of the properties are zoned CBD, and the rear portion is zones Residential D (RD). The property owner would like to build a mixed used building under section 19 of the Town ordinance. This zoning change is proposed to allow the mixed-use development on the entire property. As it currently stands, the rear of the property is RD, and cannot have a parking lot on that portion of the property due to the zoning and primary use. If this entire property is zoned as CBD, the entire parcel may be utilized as designed for a mixed-use building with adequate parking.
