Weekly update on the NEW High Street Water Treatment Facility

During the week of May 8th, 2023

Waterline:

*Fully demobilized from the site

*Completed painting punch list items at Wellhouse #8 and the WTP

*Completed 85% of the punchlist

During the week of April 10th, 2023

Waterline:

*Started up and tested the pumps at wells #3 and #6

*Completed loam and seeding work at the wellfield

*Completed processed gravel subgrade along driveway at the wellfield

*Continued work on the punch list

*Prepared the interior and exterior walls of Wellhouse #8 for painting

*Reset the flow rate of the intake fan in the garage of the WTP and rebalanced the HVAC system

*Removed the contractor and storage trailers from the site

During the week of April 3rd, 2023

Waterline:

*Continued grading the roadway at the wellfield

*Began to loam and seed disturbed areas at the wellfield

*Raised manhole frames and covers in the roadway at the wellfield

*Installed stainless steel column pipes and pumps in wells #3 and #6

*Installed riprap on filter fabric for the sediment trap

*Installed erosion control blankets at the swale

*Installed 6" processed gravel for roadway subgrade at the wellfield

*Began addressing plumbing items on the punch list

During the week of March 20th, 2023

Waterline:

*Completed installation of 6" DI raw water pipe from Well #3 to the flow meter.

*Installed bollards at the generator by Well #8.

*Continued installation of concrete duct bank and conduit with electrical tie ins to Wells #3 and #6.

*Installed the project sign.

During the week of March 13, 2023

Waterline:

*Continued installation of the 6" DI raw water pipe from Well #3 to flow meter.

During the week of March 6th, 2023

Waterline:

*Excavated and cut existing Well #3 and #6 casings

*Installed new pitless adapters Well #3 and #6.

*Removed existing utility pole #1114-4 located at Wellfield Drive

*Began installation of the 6" ductile iron raw water pipe from Well #6 to the flow meter vault

During the week of February 20th, 2023

Waterline:

*Began demolition work at well houses #3 and #6.  This involved the removal of piping and electrical equipment at both well houses.  In accordance with the specifications and asbestos abatement plan, subcontractor Yankee Fiber removed asbestos contaminated materials from well house #3.  In accordance with the specifications, the material is currently stored in a Conex box adjacent to well house #3, which will serve as a temporary storage location until the end of work.  Once the work is complete, the asbestos material will be legally disposed of.

*Supported Stantec with programming radios at the distribution system tanks and integrated them with SCADA System at High Street WTP.

*Provided/coordinated training with the Town Operators on the following:

      -ATC System

     -Submersible Septic Pump System

During the week of February 13th, 2023

Waterline:

*Supported Town operators with running the WTP into the distribution system.

*Provided/coordinated training with the Town operators on the following:

  1.      -Fuel-fired domestic water heaters
  2.      -HVAC commissioning
  3.      -Hydronic heating
  4.      -Electric heating equipment
  5.      -Fan equipment
  6.      -Diffusers, registers and grilles
  7.      -Air conditioning equipment
  8.      -Variable frequency drive units at WTP and Wells 8 & 9
  9.      -Control panels
  10.      -Vertical turbine pumps
  11.      -Chemical feed equipment
  12.      -Water filtration systems

During the week of February 6th, 2023

Waterline:

*Provided/coordinated training with town operators on the following:

  1. -Filter equipment operations
  2. -Ultraviolet equipment operations
  3. -150kw and 300kw standby generator operations
  4. -Start up and shutdown of the WTP

*Successfully completed final DEP inspection of the WTP.

During the week of January 23rd, 2023

Waterline:

*Continued general clean up work in the WTP.

*Began repairing cracks and sealing concrete floors in the garage, electric room and mechanical room at the WTP.

*Continued priming chemical feed pumps, setting chemical dose rates, and pumping to waste.

*Gas inspector inspected and approved the gas pipe for the generator at Well #8.

*Began training town personnel on the chemical feed system and SCADA system.

*Took a finished water sample and sent to the lab for bacteria testing.

*Prepared for final DEP inspection. 

During the week of January 16th, 2023

Waterline:

*Began running and testing the finished water pumps.  No issues identified.

*Completed start up of Well pumps #8 & #9.

*Supported a DEP pre-inspection site visit.  No issues identified by DEP while on site.

*Continued general clean-up work in the WTP.

*Continued startup of the greensand filters with Kurita.

*Continued SCADA work at the WTP, including balancing influent and effluent and setting chemical inputs.

*Began starting up the analyzers in the WTP lab.

During the week of January 9th, 2023

*Waterline Industries:

*Had Hayes Pump check the finished water pumps at the WTP.

*Checked and adjusted the transducers and flow meters for Wells #8 & #9.  All equipment is integrated with the SCADA System.

*Performed I/O work in the VFD's at Wells #8 & #9.

*Began backwashing the filter tanks with Kurita.  All cells have been backwashed and had chlorine installed within them for disinfection over the weekend.

*Began setting up the WTP laboratory with oversight from Rebecca McEnroe and Town Staff.

During the week of November 7th, 2022

Waterline:

*Had Eversource install the gas meter for Well #8.

*Turned on the heater at Well #8.

*Continued working on the VFD, panels, and transfer switch in Well House #8.

*Installed the generator at Well #8.

*Had Verizon test the telephone line for the SCADA system and IT room at the WTP.

*Had BAU Hopkins test the fiber cable at the WTP.  The fiber cable passed testing.

*Completed the repair of the ceiling caulking in Well House #8.

*Completed the painting inside Well #8.

*Began installing the electric and conduit for the louvers in Well House #8.

*Continued to address filter finish repairs.

Since June 10th

Waterline:

*Repaired a damaged gate ox at Wellfield #3.

*Mowed seeded areas at the WTP and Maintenance Garage.

*Addressed punch list items at the Maintenance Garage.  The punch list is approximately 85% complete.

*Is currently waiting on the delivery of the Bi-Directional Amplifier equipment.  Delivery is expected to occur within the next 4 weeks.

Since May 31st

Waterline:

*Started construction of the BDA enclosure n the maintenance garage.

*Continued working on the preliminary punch list items for the maintenance garage.

*Watered and mowed seeded areas around WTP and maintenance garage.

*Completed installation of lockers at the maintenance garage addition.

The Town:

*Completed installation of fiber optic cables from utility pole to control room at the WTP.

*Completed installation of fiber optic cables from utility pole to mechanical room at the maintenance garage.

Week of May 9th thru May 13th

Waterline:

*Completed TNEMEC finish coats on process piping and filter tanks.

*Completed floor prep work and epoxy floor coatings in the filter, pump, and chemical feed rooms.

*Continued general site cleanup at the maintenance garage and WTP.

*Continued loam and seed maintenance at the maintenance garage.

Week of April 25th thru April 29th

Waterline:

*Completed installation of 6" process gravel and 2" base and surface pavement at the maintenance garage.

*Completed installation of berm and 2" surface pavement at the WTP.

*Continued existing concrete floor prep and seal coat at the maintenance garage.

*Continued wire pulls and terminations to the process control panel and chemical feed control panel at the WTP.

*Continued acrylic installation application on process pipe and filter tanks.

*Continued concrete floor prep to receive epoxy coating.

*Started first coat of finish epoxy paint on filter tanks.

Week of April 18th thru April 22nd

Waterline:

*Received and set the process and chemical feed control panels at the WTP.

*Started wire pulls and terminations to the process control panels and chemical feed control panel at the WTP.

*Started final cleaning of the maintenance garage addition.

*Continued removal of existing pavement and 6" of existing gravel material at the maintenance garage.

*Started installation of 6" processed gravel and compaction for the maintenance garage parking area.

*Completed installation of chemical tubing and nozzles in the filter tanks.

*Will complete final inspections for plumbing, electrical, and ATC at the maintenance garage.

*Will complete hydroseeding of all loamed areas at the WTP.

Week of April 4th thru April 8th

Waterline:

*Completed installation of chain link fence and gates at the WTP.

*Completed installation of Filterra bioscape vault.

*Completed installation of antenna system at Great hill and Sprague Hill tanks and Plymouth Street well #10.

*Continued installation of site loaming.

*Continued prep work to process piping for the application of acrylic insulation paint at the WTP.

*Continued installation of gravel road and modified rock at the backwash basins.

*Continued electrical service cut over to permanent power at maintenance garage.

Week of March 28th thru April 1st

Waterline:

*Started installation of chain link fence along the site perimeter.

*Continued backwash basin backslope shaping and loaming.

*General Site cleanup.

*Continued installation of electrical conduits and antenna for Great Hill and Sprague Hill tanks.

Week of March 21st thru March 25th

Waterline:

*Completed installation of antenna and cable for SCADA system at WTP.

*Completed installation of manhole frames and covers at the WTP.

*Will complete fire alarm testing at the WTP and maintenance garage.

*Continued shaping backslopes at backwash basins and spread loam on backwash and infiltration basin slopes.

*Continued painting second coat of Tenemc paint on all interior walls at WTP.

*Continued installation of electrical conduits and unistrut supports at Plymouth Street Well #10.

*Started installation of vinyl flooring tiles at the WTP.

Week of February 28th thru March 4th

Waterline:

*Completed installation of 6" ductile iron pipe, check valves, and gate valves in the flow meter vault.

*Completed exterior joint caulking at the WTP and maintenance garage.

*Completed SCADA upgrades at Carver's Pond WTP.

*Continued installation of electrical conduit runs and junction boxes at Sprague Hill and Great Hill storage tanks.

*Continued installation of insulation of water piping at the WTP.

*Continued installation of the electrical handholes and concrete ductbanks at the wellfields.

Week of February 21st thru February 25th

Waterline:

*Started installation of electrical conduit runs at Sprague Hill and Great Hill storage tanks.

*Continued installation of electrical wire pulls/terminations for VFDs/MCCs at the WTP.

*Continued installation of plumbing insulation of water piping at the WTP.

*Continued trench excavation for fiber optic ductbank and electrical handhole installation.

*Completed installation of pumps in the pump chamber.

Week of February 14th thru February 18th

Waterline:

*Completed permanent electric power connection to WTP.

*Completed installation of analyzers/sample lines in the laboratory at the WTP.

*Completed installation of the flow meter vault and 6" ductile iron piping/hydrant at the wellfields.

*Completed process piping in the filter area.

*Completed installation of HVAC piping, ductwork, and insulation at the maintenance garage and WTP.

*Continued installation of plumbing, insulation of water piping, and started installation of plumbing finishes in bathrooms.

*Continued installation of ATC wire pulls/terminations at the maintenance garage and WTP.

*Started installation of electrical handholes and ductbanks for fiber optic lines along High Street to the wellfield pumps.

*Started installation of pumps in the pump chamber.

Week of January 24th thru January 28th

Waterline:

*Completed installation of river rock around filter tanks.

*Completed installation of wooden guardrail system.

*Completed installation of filter media to greensand layer in the filter tanks.

*Continued installation of ductile iron process piping and 3" air piping to filter tanks.

*Continued installation of modified rock fill and gravel roads around backwash basins.

*Continued installation of electrical rough-ins, conduits, junction boxes, wire pulls, and terminations for the chemical feed equipment, filter motorized valves, filter control panel, and overhead doors.

*Continued installation of HVAC rough-ins, duct work, and insulation at the WTP and maintenance garage.

*Continued installation of ATC rough-ins, conduits, ATC panels, wire pulls, and terminations at the WTP and maintenance garage.

*Continued plumbing rough-ins, pipe/water hydrants, and pipe insulation at maintenance garage.  Also continued installation of 3" vent through the roof at the WTP.

Week of January 17th thru January 21st

Waterline:

*Started installation of river rock around filter tanks.

*Started installation of the posts for the wooden guardrail system.

*Continued installation of ductile iron process piping and PVC carrier piping to filter tanks.

*Continued installation of filter media to green sand layer in the filter tanks.

*Continued installation of plumbing and ATC rough-ins, equipment, pipe/insulation at the WTP and maintenance garage.

*Continued installation of electrical rough-ins, conduits, junction boxes, and wire pulls for the chemical feed equipment, filter motorized valves, filter control panel and overhead doors.

*Continued installation of modified rock fill and gravel roads around the backwash basins.

*Completed installation of the overhead doors at the maintenance garage and WTP.

Week of January 3rd thru January 7th

Waterline:

*Filled and tested 12" raw water line between Wellfield and filter room.

*Started installation of filter media material in the filter tanks.

*Completed the installation of vinyl tile and base at the maintenance garage addition.

*Continued installation of pipe work for the boilers in the mechanical room.

*Started installation of the 6" carrier pipe for the chemical feed lines.

Week of December 20th thru December 24th

*Waterline completed installation of 12" raw water piping and gate valves along High Street.

*Waterline completed installation of lightning protection system at the WTP and maintenance garage.

*Waterline continued installation of electrical boxes, conduit and wire termination for the motorized valves at the filter tanks.

*Waterline continued installation of the galvanized filter platform and grates.

*Waterline completed installation of heat pump HP-1 and piping at the maintenance garage addition.

*Waterline continued installation of HVAC, plumbing, and ATC rough-ins, equipment, pipe and ductwork insulation at the WTP and maintenance garage.

*Waterline continued with the finish paint coat at the maintenance garage addition.

Week of December 13th thru December 17th

*Waterline completed installation of plastic-laminate clad countertops and cabinets at the maintenance garage addition and WTP.

*Waterline completed installation of backwash headwall structures and weir curbs at infiltration and backwash basins.

*Waterline completed installation of 5/8" plywood roof decking at filter room high roof and installation of ice/water barrier.

*Waterline started installation of louvers.

*Waterline started installation of metal strapping at filter room ceilings.

Week of August 9th thru August 13th

*Waterline began roof truss modification work.

*Waterline completed 5/8" plywood decking and ice/water barrier over the high roof.

*Waterline began earthwork grading and compaction required to form infiltration and backwash basins.

*Waterline continued with electrical and plumbing rough-ins.

*Waterline completed primary electrical duct banks from utility pole #115 to the WTP.

*Waterline continued painting walls and ceilings at the WTP.

Week of July 26th thru July 30th

*Waterline will continue painting structural steel/purlins for the new maintenance garage.

*Waterline will continue painting first coat of Tnemec  paint in filter room.

*Waterline will start rough plumbing work at the WTP.

*Waterline will continue installing fire protection piping at the WTP.

*Waterline will start trucking material onto the site to perform earthwork grading for perimeter slopes and entrance roadway.

*Waterline will continue installation of electrical conduits/boxes and pulling wire.

Week of July 19th thru July 23rd

*Waterline will continue installation of electrical primary/secondary ductbanks.

*Waterline will continue installation of gypsum wallboard and taping ceilings at offices and bathrooms.

*Waterline will start installation of electrical handholes and National Grid transformer pad/containment curb.

*Waterline will continue painting first finish coat of Tnemec paint on CMU block walls and ceilings.

*Waterline will start first coat of Tnemec paint on hollow metal frames and doors.

Week of July 5th thru July 9th

*Waterline will start installation of Fascia trim work.

*Waterline will continue installation of electrical duct banks.

*Waterline will continue installation of Fire Protection pipe work.

*Waterline will start prep work on the interior walls of the Filter Tanks.

Week of June 21st thru June 25th

*Waterline located the existing 10" water line at Wellfield Drive.  An additional test pit will be required to determine the extent of the subsurface concrete mass found in test pit.

*Waterline continues with the installation of the 2X fascia nailer board.

*Waterline started installation of the generator pad, electrical conduits and gas line embedded in the pad.

*Waterline installed and backfilled the 1,500-gallon septic tank and pump chamber.

*Waterline started painting CMU block filler coat at the WTP.

Week of June 14th thru June 18th

*Waterline has completed leakage tests for both filter tanks with no problems to report.

*Waterline has installed and tested the treated water line with no problems to report.

*Waterline has completed installation of roof trusses.

*Waterline continues with installation of electrical above-ceiling conduit and boxes.

Week of June 7th thru June 11th

*Waterline completed filter tank assembly.

*Waterline began water testing of filter tanks.

*Waterline set gable ends and roof truss framework on the low and high roofs of the WTP.

*Waterline installed the 10" X 12" tapping sleeve into the existing 10" water line in High Street.

*Waterline installed 12" DI treated water pipe, a gate valve and 6" DI pipe, and a 12" X 6" tee and gate valve for hydrant service.

Week of May 24th thru May 28th

*Waterline continues welding nozzles, grinding and welding tank wall seams and roof sections.

*Waterline continues installation of water sample, service, and fire protection lines.

*Waterline will start installation of roof trusses at the Water Treatment Plant.

*Waterline completed installation of the 1500-gallon industrial wastewater holding tank at the maintenance garage.

Week of May 17th thru May May 21st

*Waterline completed entryway concrete footings, frost walls, and slabs on grade.

*Waterline continues with installation of 12" DIA.  Treated water, raw water, and backwash water piping.

*Waterline continues with installation of 12" RCP storm drain.

*Waterline continues with the setting and welding work for the filter tank.

*Waterline will start installation of the 1,500 gallon industrial wastewater holding tank at the maintenance building.

Week of May 3rd thru May 7th

*Waterline completed concrete piers and pilasters at the maintenance garage.

*Waterline will continue filter tank shell welding in the filter room.

*Waterline started installation of 12" RCP piping and 4' DIA.  Manholes for the storm drain system at the main building.

Week of April 25th thru April 30th

*Waterline formed and placed concrete footings for the maintenance garage, break room and bathroom addition.

*Waterline continues installation of electrical conduits under floor slabs at pump and electrical rooms.

*Waterline is placing structural fill and compacting for the floor slabs at the filter room.

*Waterline continues installation of electrical conduits under floor slabs at pump and electrical rooms.

*Waterline continued backfill with structural fill and compaction within the building.

*Waterline installed under slab plumbing pipe and floor drains in west section of the building.

*Waterline installed 6" of 3/4" stone for slab on grade for the west section of the building.

*Waterline completed formwork and rebar for the exterior wall along the E-line.

*Waterline installed electrical conduits between the control room to electric room.

Week of December 24 thru December 31st

*Waterline continued forming, pouring, and stripping frost walls and interior walls.  Approximately 70% complete to date.

*Waterline continued to set retaining wall blocks.  Approximately 75% complete.

Week of December 17th thru December 23th

*Waterline Industries continued forming, pouring and stripping frost walls and interior walls.  Approximately 60% complete to date.  Waterline is using Thawzall hydronic heating system and insulation blankets to allow for cold weather concrete placement.

*Waterline Industries continued to set retaining wall blocks.  Approximately 65% complete to date.

Week of December 10th thru December 17th

*Waterline Industries continues forming, pouring, and stripping frost walls and interior walls.  Approximately 55% complete to date

*Waterline Industries installing under slab plumbing pipe at mechanical, washroom, lab and break rooms

*Waterline Industries continues to set retaining wall blocks.  Approximately 50% complete to date

*Construction site closed on Thursday December 17th due to weather.  Waterline Industries will resume construction on site Monday December 21st and will work a typical 4-day work week

Week of December 2nd thru December 9th

*Forming, pouring and stripping frost walls and interior walls

*To place and tie rebar for frost walls and interior walls

*To excavate for retaining wall subgrade

*To set retaining wall blocks, approximately 40% complete to date

*Begun excavation for the retaining wall

*Poured concrete footings and flume and backwash sump slab on grades

*Stripped forms at prior poured footings

*Has begun placing and tying rebar for frost walls and wall along E-line

*Placed backfill around footings

*Poured concrete for slab on grade at chemical feed area
