COVID-19 UPDATE
Late yesterday afternoon the Town was informed that a Town employee may have been exposed an individual with COVID-19 symptoms at on out-of-town location. This morning the Bridgewater Emergency Management team recommended that all non-essential municipal offices be closed for the next 48 hours until we know the test results of the possibly-infected individual.
While the possibility of infection of our employee is extremely remote and the possibility of an exposure in our building is even more remote, the municipal buildings have been closed today and tomorrow (Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13). The Town continues to disinfect municipal buildings which will continue through the weekend.
Given the constantly changing dynamic, the Town Manager has asked all non-essential personnel to return home today and stay away from the office through Friday.
The Town Manager’s request is NOT any kind of quarantine or isolation order. There are NO presumptive cases of COVID-19 in Bridgewater at this time, and this action is being taken out extreme caution. The action far exceeds the guidelines set out by the CDC and MA DPH.
